There was some bad weather coming so we tucked up into Kolitsani Cove on Ios Island where we would be protected from the meltemi coming down from the north.

Despite the anchorage being protected, the winds came down over the hills and it was rather gusty at anchor. We were the only boat in the small bay and we decided to stay onboard Calista as it was too risky going ashore and leaving Caista unattended in these conditions. It was still warm and sunny and we were able to swim. We found plenty to occupy ourselves onboard with paperwork, updating our photos and doing some washing.

To get off Calista for a break we did venture in the dingy to explore around the neighbouring anchorage. There were quite a few boats at anchor and they too were experiencing the gusts in the anchorage.

On shore the beaches were crowded. The following morning we decided to up anchor early and make the most of the wind to meet up with our friends on Tipheret at Astapalia Island.
