We left the anchorage at Corme after lunch around 2.00pm in the afternoon. It was going to be another short hop around the coast to Camarinas. About a 3 1/2 hour trip.

The weather was sunny with light winds and we had a pleasant sail but at times when the wind was fickle and we had to furl in the sails and found ourselves motor sailing. We rounded the headland where the lighthouse was and the wind farm.

We passed Cabo Villano with it’s wind farm and proceeded on down the coast to Ria de Camarinas. As we approached the entrance into the bay of Camarinas we encountered several fishing boats coming back in with their catch. The seagulls were following them in and were circling the boats. There were also dolphins following behind.

We dropped the anchor further up in the bay just off Cala de Vila at 5.30pm

Camarinas is an attractive harbour surrounded by wind mills. It is known for it’s production of bobbin lace. In town many shops have the lovely lace work for sale.

Next to our anchorage there was a large business working 24/7 in the production of sardine and octopus products.

The following day we were going ashore in the dingy and we went into the marina where Favorita were staying and tied our dinghy up to their pontoon before walking into the township. We found a small supermarket and got a few supplies then made our way back to the marina to the dingy.
